CO2-neutral Wooden Buildings e.V.
What are EPBDs?
The European Building Directive EPBD (Energy Performance of Building Directives) was adopted by the European Parliament in 2010 and has set strict requirements on buildings and their energy performance certificates as a contribution to achieving the energy and climate protection goals of the EU.
This Directive is concerned with the publication of the energy performance certificate, packages of measures for renovation and modernization, quality assurance of energy performance certificates, experts for energy performance certificates, notice of energy performance certificates in public buildings, the new construction of low-energy houses and upper limits of building sizes for renovations.
These are all requirements that are aligned with the existence and the use of a building's energy. The overall energy balance, i.e. production-use-disposal, within the meaning of the technical overall environmental assessment, is not included here.
The RAL Quality Mark for CO2-neutral Wooden Buildings is a contribution towards an overall assessment of the statutory energy conservation.
